A fire burned six acres of forest vegetation at Chino Hills State Park Wednesday night, leaving one firefighter injured and a lot of questions for three teenage boys detained at the site, the Orange County Fire Authority says.
The injured firefighter, whose name was not released, suffered a laceration to his foot when a shovel sliced though his boot. He was taken to a hospital, Fire Authority Capt. Stephen Miller said.
The fire was reported at about 10 p.m. near the park's Blue Gum Drive entrance in Yorba Linda. Seventy-five firefighters and 10 engines, including teams from the California Department of Forestry, put out the fire in about two hours. Additional Information Here.
